BALLPARK LEVEL GUIDE

English Language levels are approximately mentioned below:  

Beginner, Elementary, Lower Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, Advanced 

Beginner:  I do not know English. 

Elementary: I am aware of a little English, but cannot speak more than few words.  

Lower intermediate: I can speak in well-known state of affairs. I can read easy English, but I get writing complex. 

Intermediate: I speak well but not fluently. I understand most spoken English. I can read fairly well. I can write simple sentences, but make mistakes. 

Upper intermediate: I understand almost all spoken and writing everyday English. I can speak confidently, even in unfamiliar situations and my writing is quite good. 

Advanced: there are infrequent errors and misapprehensions. Normally I converse clearly and effectively in both spoken and written English.

About A1 Test

United Kingdom Boarder Agency has approved A1 test which consists Speaking and Listening

Speaking:
Total Marks 200    
Passing Marks 50     
Passing Percentage 25%
In speaking module, the skill of applicants is evaluated by putting 11 questions
This test is performed on computer through internet which remains continue for 20 minutes. The facility of headphone is available in the centre.
There are 6 Tasks which consists on eleven questions:
Task 1 contains two questions:                          Read a text aloud (2 Paragraphs)
Task 2 contains one question):                          Describe a picture.
Task 3 contains three questions:                       Respond to questions.
Task 4 contains three questions:                       Respond to questions using information provided.
Task 5 contains one question:                           Propose a solution of problem.
Task 6 contains one question:                           Express an Opinion.

Listening:
Total Marks = 495      
Passing Marks = 60      
Passing Percentage =12%
Offline multiple choice
Duration 60 Minutes
